I am Henry Adelusi, a local business owner of Habaj Consulting Group LLC. I’m originally from Ft. Lauderdale, Florida. I’m 30 years old and a graduate of Florida Agricultural and Mechanical University, with a degree in Political Science Pre-Law. I’ve been in Tallahassee for about 12 years now and my memories are filled with good ones, but also bad ones. As I reminisce, two, in particular, stand out the most. The first, which was a very pivotal juncture in my life, was when I went completely blind.
During this time, I didn’t have family in the capital city, but what I did have was a community of friends that treated me like family. My community kept my hopes up, kept me faithful and got me through the storm. The second memory is probably the most gratifying day of my life. That was the day I graduated from college.
This accomplishment means the world to me because my whole life I was told I wasn’t going to be able to do it. It’s especially hurtful when it comes from your high school guidance counselor telling you that college was not for you and to find another alternative. Over time, I developed a knack for proving people wrong and showing them that I can achieve anything. These events helped shape me into the man that I am today, knowing bad times come and go and people will always doubt your abilities. Sometimes, it just comes down to what are you going to do to make a change.

It is time to move the city forward into a new era of prosperity and economic growth. So, I call upon you today. In order to make these ideas into reality, I need your help. The road to City Commission is going to be difficult but with your help, we successfully bring measurable change to Tallahassee.
